Gone but not Forgotten
I know, I know, I know. I finally start blogging again after a LOOOONG abscence and my comeback has been shady, at best. (panama city reference - spring break!) Anyway, I do have lots of good excuses. Wannna hear some? Ok, first off, it's the holiday season and I have been a shopping fiend. Now that I'm a stay at home Mom I have lots of time to bargain hunt. That's a must now that we're a single income family. So, I've been in and out of every department store, outlet mall, and other such shops since the day after Thanksgiving. I absolutly LOVE finding a great gift at a great price. So, the second obstacle keeping me from blogging was wrapping all my goodies. Having a 9 month old crawling FIEND is not very condusive to wrapping gifts. I get myself all spread out on the floor - wrapping paper everywhere, tape dangling from all 10 of my fingers, and up crawls Miss Maggie gunning for the scissors. This new shiny contraption her Mommy has just amazes her. And I think she "senses" that they're like one of the only things she CAN'T have so that's why she wants them so much. So, wrapping all my gifts has been tricky. I must admit though. I'm so proud of my sweet girl. She is all over the place. She pulls herself up on EVERYTHING. She's so strong and strong willed for that matter. If she wants something she can get to it and is bound and determined to get it in her hands. We bought her a "Guess What Elmo" because she freaks out whenever the commercial comes on the TV. We couldn't wait and gave it to her the other day. She loves it. Can't wait til Christmas time to give her the rest of her gifts.

She's a Crawler!
Well, Maggie crawled for the first time "officially" tonight. She's been hinting at it for weeks now. She'd put her hand out in front and then roll over. Or she'd get up on her hands and knees like she was doing a push up and then bring both legs up like an inchworm. I've been calling her my little "inchworm" lately because her little butt has been in the air so much! Well, tonight she finally crawled - all the way across the room to me! It's so exciting. But I know she's going to be on the go from here on out. She'll be 9 months old tomorrow and outside of me for longer than she was inside of me. I'm so proud of my sweet baby. She's a crawler now and ON THE GO!

Charlie Brown
Maggie just watched her first ever, "Charlie Brown's Christmas". It's a family tradition of mine (as I'm sure it is in many other families). I'm not too big on Rudolph or Frosty but I'm sure we'll watch those too. She really liked it. I was surprised that she watched it. We've put cartoons and other things on just to see if she's interested (I know, Bad Mom, letting my 9 month old catch a glimpse of TV) but she's never really stayed focused on anything. But, she loved Charlie Brown - even squealed at the screen. Tommy was a huge Snoopy fan as a kid, still is actually, so he was pleased at her reaction. It's finally starting to feel like Christmas to me. With all the retailers getting the season started sooner and sooner each year, it's hard for me to finally feel like it's time to get excited. But, our family lit the 2nd Advent candle at church today and there's still snow lingering on the ground from our storm last Thursday. Yeah, I guess I'm finally ready for Christmas. OH, almost forgot....bought Mags her big Christmas present from Santa the other day.

Cahoon
I was noticing that lots of my hits came from Search Engines looking for "Cahoon" and I've gotten a few emails asking about the name Cahoon. Well, it's my husband who is the Cahoon. His immediate family is in Richmond, Virginia and a few in Virginia Beach. But, most of the Cahoon's (like where his Grandparents are from) is the Eastern, NC area. There are lots of Cahoons in New Bern, NC. And some in the Outer Banks, NC area. I think their Mayor was a Cahoon? Anyway, so any Cahoon's from the Eastern NC area are probably kin to my Tommy!

Since we've no place to go..
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW! I love the snow. So glad to be back in VA where we get it more frequently than in NC. It's Maggie's first ever but since I don't have a snow suit for her yet, we didn't venture out. I wanted to put her out real quick and snap a picture, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. I held her up to the window to see if she would like the falling snow, but she was more interested in the cord to the blinds. Ahhhh, maybe next year.

Just Like Yesterday
Ahhh, I remember it well.....the last time I blogged. It was just like what....8 months ago? I wonder what happened 8 months ago that made me stop blogging??? Oh, yeah, that's right. I HAD MAGGIE! Her birth ushered in the end of many of my usual activites. One the biggest being work. I'm a stay at home Mom and I LOVE IT! Sleeping was another thing Miss Maggie decided I didn't need to do anymore. But, she's much better now than in the beginning. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to redesign the blog now that I'm home and have some free time. Closing for now. Thanks so much Robyn for the help gettting me back up and running. Hope your 30th was THE BEST!
