Happy Thanksgiving!

You'll notice I haven't been around too much lately ... holidays do that to you I suppose (or at least give you a good excuse to be lazy.)

Just wanted to wish all my friends, family, visitors, and lurkers a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday (if you celebrate that sort of thing.) Don't forget the punch and pie :)

And as my gift of giving ... these are for you. Enjoy!

Get ready to make a run for the border (Canada that is ...)

Are you a male or female between the ages of 18 and 26 (or do you have children who will fit that category someday)?? Then I recommend you inform yourself on the newest threat made by cronies of the Shrubbery. According to a DOD-related website posting, "The Selective Service System wants to hear from men and women in the community who might be willing to serve as members of a local draft board."

Add that to the Universal National Service Act of 2003 introduced in the House and Senate this year, which states "... It is the obligation of every U.S. citizen, and every other person residing in the United States, between the ages of 18 and 26 to perform a two-year period of national service, unless exempted, either as a member of an active or reserve component of the armed forces or in a civilian capacity that promotes national defense. Requires induction into national service by the President. Sets forth provisions governing: (1) induction deferments, postponements, and exemptions, including exemption of a conscientious objector from military service that includes combatant training; and (2) discharge following national service.
*Amends the Military Selective Service Act to authorize the military registration of females."

In the House: H.R. 163

In the Senate: S.89

Now I may just be a kitty, but that sounds awfully ominous. The possibility of reinstating the draft and including women in said draft ... particularly when I watch National Guard troops (in addition to the armed services) being deployed frequently into combat this year.

I'm not suggesting I have full knowledge on this, but if it concerns you (as it does me) ... I highly recommend you research this yourself and contact your senators and representatives. You can also add information in the comments if you wish.

THE DRAFT IS COMING BACK?

My new 3-inch penis

Apparently I've been offered the enormous opportunity (pardon the pun) to increase my (nonexistent) penis by 3 inches by some anonymous reader of my blog calling themselves "Generic Viagra." Hooray!

Just when I finally got over the spam (not affiliated with the faux-meat) in my mailbox, now I have to deal with it here. It just moves from the snail mail to the telephone to the email to the blog. I guess you can run, but you can't hide.

Here's an article posted today about the new targets of spam

Spammers Now Clogging Blogs, Cell Phones

It's like the skit goes ... spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam and spam.

BUT I DON'T LIKE SPAM!

I have no idea ...

You ever find strange things while surfing and wasting time, and have absolutely NO idea what the hell it is? Yeah ... this is one of those. But I like it ... you should too!

Mr. Anderson, welcome back. We missed you.

I've been on hiatus for a while ... but I had to drop in to scream very loudly

IT'S MATRIX DAY!!!

Get thee to a theater (preferably IMAX) pronto!

I'll report back in after my sequential viewings later ...

UPDATE: Not what I was expecting (even with an insider dishing secrets) ... but lots of fighting, some interesting revelations, and a definite ending. I'll have to give it a second viewing tomorrow to hand down the final decision on this one. But I'd definitely say it's well worth your time to watch the 1st and 2nd installments before going to Revolutions. Also ... MUCH MUCH better in IMAX. So worth your while to find the nearest one to you!
